you're getting sleepy ...

What in this world do you find most soothing/relaxing/calming?

What brings you the most peace when you are stressed?

What do you do when you can't fall asleep?

Do you ever wake up to eat in the middle of the night?

When I can't fall asleep (not too often) I lie there making up lists in my head - states & countries I've visited, people I know personally who have died (don't ask), the NY Yankees lineup from 1996, etc.

It doesn't help me fall asleep but it passes the time until I do.

No, I never get up and eat at night.

Soothing/relaxing/calming? I'm afraid I can't say that out loud!

1. The thought of snorkeling off the coast of Maui and the caucophony of sound made by the coral and other underwater critters.

2. Peace during stress? What is this thing of which you speak? Listening to music helps. Or mixing a really strong cocktail.

3. Say the rosary. Guaranteed to work. I only do it in extreme emergencies though, because I feel quite the hypocrite. *catholic guilt*

4. You mean to eat food, right? No. I never eat food in the middle of the night. :) I never eat food after 7 pm as a matter of fact. Food + lying down is really bad for my gut.

I love the sound of rain when I'm warm and snuggly inside.

Music is the biggest help when I'm stressed. Either that or a .... release.....

Toss and turn. It's very rare for me not to fall asleep though. I'm usually out in 2 minutes.

Never woken up to eat. Pee, drink, vomit - sometimes all three - but never eat.

1. Sitting on the beach listening to the ocean waves or taking a long hot bubble bath with some Jazz on the stereo.

2. Weasel's embrace and/or dark chocolate

3. I often have insomnia. When I lived alone I would get up and clean or try to do something productive. Now I read or watch TV quietly. If it is the insomnia where I wake up at 3am I usually put on an old movie.

4. Not anymore, but I use to.

Soothing/relaxing/calming? Stroking and petting the Boo Boo Kitty (No, that's not a code name for something off color).

Most peace when stressed? Homeopathic stress tablets (may be a placebo for all I know), watching mindless television shows (distracts me from the stressful stuff).

Can't fall asleep? Push the two club charis together, turn out all the lights and, again, watch mindless televions. I think the chairs from a comforting cocoon-like sleeping space and the television distracts me from unpleastant thoughts until I dose off.

Eat in the middle of the night? Nope. Rarely ever even pee in the middle of the night. Too much information?

If I really really can't get to sleep, I turn myself around -- bring my pillow down to where my feet should be and my feet at the head of the bed. It may be odd, but this has never failed.
