The hills are alive with the sound of muzak ...

Name the best soundtrack to a movie ever made.*

Name the best use of a song in a movie.

Name the best rock album of all time.

Name the best album title of all time.

*Let it be known, I will personally harm the person who answers "Titanic".

Um, Titanic?

No, not really. It sucks. Any John Williams score these days is a self-parody of the good work he's done in the past.

How about Jaws? Or Psycho? Talk about evocative!

Best use of a song: "Shout!" in Animal House is pretty good. But Kaf is probably right about "As Time Goes By" - "You played it for her, now play it for me!"

Best rock album of all time? Punky, how can you do this to me? There is never a single best in any category in my world; maybe a top 10.

Let's start with Bat Out of Hell, OK?

Best album title: gotta think.

Movie Soundtrack - Grosse Pointe Blank. Runner up - Valley Girl.

Best Use of a song - "Free" at the end of "Flashback"

Rock Album - hard to say - too many, depending on my mood. Of course, most of mine tend to be alternative or ska....

Best Title of an Album - an awful lot to choose from - have to think on that one...

1) Best Soundtrack: Mask, followed closely with fast times at ridgemont high. Debatable.
2) Best use of song: Knockin' On Heaven's Door, in Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, not debatable.
3) Best Rock Album: probably Who's Next. So debatable it's ridiculous.
4) Best Album Title: Born to Run. No doubt...
Great questions, Punky!

Best movie sound track - The talented Mr. Ripley. Eh on the movie, but the Jazz on the soundtrack is incredible!

Best use of a song - hmm the only one that sticks with me is an Enya song in a ballroom scene and I can't remember the movie. Hmmm let me think. I do like the music to Princess Bride, but I'm not sure the sword fight on the cliffs of insanity count as a song.

No answer for the next two as my limited rock knowledge will surely get me laughed at here.

Oh and I couldn't even stand to watch Titanic all the way through let alone listen to the sound track.

I like Kate Winslet, but that's because of Eternal Sunshine.

1. Soundtrack to a movie ~ Almost Famous followed by Garden State and then Out of Africa.

2. Best use of a song in a movie ~ "The Ecstasy of Gold" in the Good, the Bad & the Ugly.

3. Best Rock Album ~ Dark Side of the Moon

4. Best Album Title ~ Nevermind - Nirvana and The Art of Falling Apart - Soft Cell. There are so many others, but today it's these two.

1. I am a big fan of the Star Wars soundtrack.

2. "It's the end of the world as we know it" (by REM) at the beginning of "Independence Day" as the aliens are arriving.

3. My personal favorite would be REM's greatest hits. That's not the exact title. I forget what it is. I guess my fave non-collection album is probably "Green" by REM.

4. Sargeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
