Monday Monday

Are your glory days behind you or before you? Or are they happening now?

Do you walk around your house barefoot, in socks or in shoes?

Do you have pets? Types and names?

When was the last time you went swimming?

When was the last time you swung on a swing?

What did you do this weekend that made you happy?

1. My glory days are behind me (I was young, pretty and in demand) and ahead of me (fulfilling my inner potential). Right now I'm in a transition phase.

2. Barefoot. All my life.

3. One 100-pound chocolate lab, Ria and one one-ounce gecko, Gex.

4. I last swam a year or so ago on vacation. The only thing stopping me from using the gym's pool is the fact that I look like a manatee in a swimsuit.

5. I last swung about 5 years ago. Unexpectedly, it made my stomach do flip-flops and my head spin. I'm not planning on swinging again any time soon.

6. I rearranged my daughter's room AGAIN with my kids' help and moral support. It was a sweet and nice family time.

Glory days: Definitely behind me. Hoping that will change soon.

Walk: Barefoot, unless it's winter, then I'm always in socks and slippers. Shoes come off at the door.

Pets: One squat beagley mutt named Lucy.

Swimming: 11 days ago at Myrtle Beach

Swing: Yesterday at the playground with my daughter

Happy Weekend: Didn't do any basement scraping; bought some cute shoes; mixed drinks.

1. Hopefully they are ahead of me, because I have yet to experience anything I’d refer to as “glory days”
2. Barefoot
3. 2 cats, Bailey (my mom named her after Bailey’s Irish Cream (mommy drank)) and Chloe
4. About a year ago. We had a little family picnic at a beach in Port Huron, MI.
5. I don’t recall when I was last on a swing
6. Happiness this weekend = sleeping in, clean sheets, watching movies

Never really had any that I would call Glory Days. In my case youth was wasted on the young.(But it was fun)

I usually wear shoes. Trying to switch to barefoot.

Pets, two Beagles Sophie and Britt. Four Newfoundlands Sam, Harrison, Emily and Audrey

Swimming, a couple of years ago in Maine, In the Seattle area the water is a little cool.

I always stop at the swings and swing a little.

Made beer on Saturday. Sunday got the house back to ourselves, we have had vistors for a couple of weeks.

1. Are your glory days behind you or before you? Or are they happening now? Methinks someone has beens listening to the Boss this weekend. I'm not sure I've ever had any "glory" days and really not sure if I ever will. I've never been the capatain of the football team/big man on campus only to be a washed up mill worker as soon as high school was over. So my life has been pretty much on an even keel with the inevitable and occassional ups and downs. But I'm happy with it and wouldn't trade most of my expereinces. Man, I didn't mean to get som deep and introspective in a Monday.

2. Do you walk around your house barefoot, in socks or in shoes? Barefoot. Defintely barefoot.

3. Do you have pets? Types and names? A black cat coincidentally named Boosephus Augustus, aka Boo, Boo Boo Kitty and Boo Bear.

4. When was the last time you went swimming? Hmm. Last summer, Lake Hickory.

5. When was the last time you swung on a swing? Last time I was at my Mom's . . . on the porch swing.

6. What did you do this weekend that made you happy? My Mom came to town, so we did some low impact sightseeing and high intesnity Scrabble playing. Note, I won the series 3 games to 2 with a combined point total about 150 points ahead of Mom. In the heat of competition, Mom called me a "son-of-a-bitch."

Boo: did you ask your mom is she meant that literally?

Glory Days: My life keeps getting better and better. I made it that way. :)

Barefoot inside, always. Barefoot outside whenever I can.

Two kitties ... Toby and Taby ... shut up, they came named. They totally rock.

Swimming ... last summer.

Swinging ... last weekend. It was fun. I hung upside down!

Weekend: I went to the beach and read a great book and recovered from a grueling hike the previous day.

Not spellchecking. If you don't know what a word is, sound it out. You'll get it.

Glory days: Happening now. I can't wait for the next few years of building a family.

Barefoot as much as possible. I hate shoes! Socks I tolerate if it is cold out, but that isn't much of a problem in SoCal.

2 kitties - Cody and Louie. Soon the adopted weasel mutt named Ozzie and a black kittie named Dakota

Swimming- my all time favorite thing to do, but not since last November when I left my old job/gym. I was trying to convince Weasel to take me swimming on Saturday, but no joy

Swings - Not in a long time. I use to spend a lot of time on the swings in college. Nothing more cathartic than swinging under the stars as a cool breeze blows away all your fears.

Happy- Clean Laundry and a nice dinner with Weasel.

My physical glory days are behind me - when I was in college. My spiritual/human growth glory days are just beginning.

I walk around the house in all 3 options, depending on the time of day.

I have an attack cat named Biccy, but usually referred to as "Fuzzbutt" or "Ratbag"

I last went swimming in my hot tub over the previous weekend. Before that was last summer.

Last swung on a swing about 3 years ago when I lived in DC.

I finished shoveling 9 + yards of slate chips over my backyard. Finishing that made me VERY happy!

*caveat - I have had a "faked" glory day . . . at least as far as a tram full of tourists were concerned. When I worked at a major film studio and theme park operator, I fell in with an "evil" group of co-workers who would "salt" the backlot tour. The lucky Celebrity Of The Day waited for the tram tour at the backlot cafe. As the tram passed by, the conspirators on board would start pointing and waving and making a general ruckus about the Celebrity, who would approach the tram to graciously sign autographs, hats, napkins, breasts (yes, some of the women I worked with were a bit wild). Somewhere in the world, my signature is the treasured possession of a studio visitor.

1. Depends on the day you ask. As far as being an actor, in some ways it feels like they are simply because I'm a female over 35. Which is stupid and sucks. As far as being a human being goes, I'd like to think they're still ahead of me.

2. Summer - barefoot, winter - besocked

3. 4 cats
Katala - 15 year-old tabby
Imogen - 10 year-old grey calico
Mistress Quickly - 8 year-old black cat
Polyphemos - 2 year-old one-eyed orange tiger

4. I'm terrified of water. I panic if it gets over my collar bone. So the last time I went swimming was over 20 years ago.

5. Swing? Last week.

6. Man. What did I do this weekend? That's the question. I don't remember. Ah.
a. Got 2 of my cats from the vet. (I'd boarded them while out of town.) They were also happy about coming home.
b. Saw the movie Kinky Boots. Fun little flick.

1. I don't think I can truly judge which were my glory days until I'm dead and gone.

2. Always socks, usually shoes too. Sometimes if it's hot out, I'll go barefoot, but I really feel more comfortable with my feet being hugged by something. And can't stand walking barefoot outdoors... too many sharp pointy things. Guess I'm just a tenderfoot.

3. One cat, a 4-yr-old named Beauty.

4. Middle of August. Caribbean. Honeymoon.

(I would have gone swimming during the couple of hot weekends we've had, but our apartment complex was unaware of some regulation or another, and thus do not have a pool license yet.)

5. Don't remember the last time I swung.

6. Ate fresh local produce: grilled cornonthecob, blueberries and cream, green beans, and tomato-pinenut-garlic cous-cous.

Kaf - One of the biggest name reviewers in the US (Roger Ebert) wrote about what a treasure Chiwetel Ejiofor is in Kinky Boots. He pointed out that Ejofor doesn't play Lola with any of the stereotypic simpering or mincing that we often expect from film drag queens.

And I realized that during the movie, I kept likening Lola to Tim Curry's Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Because they're just sexy men in lingerie. They aren't hiding behind it, they're revealing themselves with it. They're being completely true to who they are, and it's gorgeous.

The more I think about the movie, the more I like it, despite the rather predictable plot twists.

How come I'm either the first one to see a new post or the last? OK, I'll save that one.

Glory days? Can't say I've had many, but whichever they were are still going on...I hope.

barefoot, in socks or shoes? Yes. Sometimes barefoot (especially when I get up and before bed), otherwise sneakers & socks.

No pets.

Last time I went swimming? At a guess, the early 1970s.

Swung on a swing? Probably with nieces or nephews within the last few years.

This weekend? Um, good question. Let's see...no, that was last weekend (Jimmy Buffett concert). Oh yeah, I watched The 40-Year-Old Virgin and the World Cup Final.

Does that count?

are you kidding me? everyday lately is a Glory Day!

*knock knock*

Hello? Glory Days? Fish is HERE!

barefoot until it's cold, then on go the mocassin slippers.

I had puppies once when I was a kid, Cracky and Macky. I actually named those myself. It looks as though I will be inheriting with the move, one rather large (rescued) mutt, named Angel, and two also large, but not equally, MACAW Parrots, named Merlin and Guineverre.

Weekend before last in Beaver, Lake that is.

I've found one (in good shape no less) left on the new property (50 acres takes awhile to discover, I'm discovering) hanging in a tree. The branch it's hung on has benn dead for awhile. So, to answer you in short, been too long ago, but soon?

Moved crap until very late Sat. night, and then fired up the grill on the deck about 11 p.m., threw on some T-Bones, threw back some brews, counted the stars as I kicked off my shoes.

I was eating dinner well after midnight (hey, it's not like I haven't told you guys I'm weird)
