The recipe for Chocolate Cherry Yum Yum . . . always entertaining:
1 Yellow Cake Mix 1 Stick of Butter 2 Cans of Cherry Pie Filling 1 Cup Chopped Pecans 1 Cup (or a whole bag, if you're adventurous) Semi-sweet of Dark Chocolate Chips
Using a fork, combine the cake mix with butter until you have a finely crumbly mixture. Reserve about one cup of this mixture.
Grease a 13 x 9 glass baking dish (just my preference), then press the remaining butter and cake mixture into the bottom to form a uniform layer. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly. Spread the cherry pie filling on top. Combine the reserve butter and cake mixture with the chopped pecans and sprinkle on top.
Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven until the bottom is a golden brown.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream. Save the leftovers in the refrigerator and eat them for breakfast (wheat, fruit, dairy . . . perfect breakfast foods).
One day I want to try Cherry Double Chocolate Coconut Marshmallow Yum Yum (adding a browing mix on top of the butter and cake mixture as the second chocolate part).
