Sunny day ... sweeping the clouds away

I am so sorry that I have been MIA. I was very sick for the last few weeks. I am feeling better. I'm not 100%, but I'm better.

So here are a few questions to hold you over until I am fully recovered:

What book are you currently reading? If you're not reading a book, what project are you currently working on? If you're not reading or working on a project, how are you currently spending your free time?

What do you hope to do when you retire?

Soft serve or hard ice cream?

First (and most important), I'm glad you're feeling better. May your return to health be rapid and unhindered.

I'm currently reading Carl Hiassen's Nature Girl to my husband (It's one of the things we do together for fun.)

And I have yet to choose my specific next book, but in the past week I've read:
Lysistrata by Aristophanes
Lolita
Are You Somebody? by
Nuala O'Faiolain
The Land of Women by Regina McBride
An Unsuitable Attachment by Barbara Pym
I'm Not the New Me by Wendy McClure
I think that's it. I've had some time, so I've spent it reading.

I hope to never retire. I hope to be an actor and a teacher for the rest of my life.

I can't have ice cream any more, but when I could, it was soft serve all the way. I miss it a lot.

I hope you get to feeling better soon, Punky!

I just finished a re-read of A Game of Thrones by Geaorge R.R. Martin.

I want to travel and sip cool drinks by a beach.

Hard ice cream. A friend owned an ice cream shop where he served the most awesome dipped ice cream. He sold an organic rum raisen that was so good it that you could almost feel like you were getting a buzz.

Punkster - get well! I've been dropping in every day and was getting worried - Actually, I was hoping you were being swept off your feet by your Romeo, but alas...

Book - have two on the go right now - both in the Star Wars genre. I got a whole bunch for my birthday.

Projects - getting ready to replace the crappy linoleum in the kitchen.

Free time - playing on the PC

I hope to travel, spend time with my (eventual) grandkids and enjoy life with my wife.

Soft serve in a cone, hard in a bowl or dish.

1) FEEL BETTER DAMNIT!

2) currently I am working on renovating my basement and turning it into a killer master suite. Phase 1 is complete with Phase 2 about to start in a few weeks. In addition to that, i am building a bar, selling crap on eBay, refurnishing vintage wood boxes, etc.

3) i hate retirement, its the number one killer of old people. ill be busy until i die.

4) hard ice cream because soft serve is just too damn messy.

Me too Higgy, me too. But alas, my Romeo must be taking the scenic route. Or maybe he is stranded on the side of the road with a flat. Or perhaps he is trapped under something heavy. So not this time ... but hopefully next time I disappear for a long time, it will be for that reason.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes.

*HUGS*

My Losing Season, by Pat Conroy. Amazing writer.
Nothing crafty going on right now, just finished Pinewood Derby cars with the kids (my son's won a first place for speed!)
Any kind of ice cream is OK with me...

Currently, i am actually reading something - its called "smashed" about a child who grew up as a drunk...interesting to say the least. but if i'm not reading - which i never really am - then i'm busy helping dan with the renovations of his basement - but now that he is officially moved down there we are able to relax and enjoy it for a bit before phrase 2 starts.

i'm not sure i will ever fully retire - maybe i will - i'm not sure. but if i do choose to retire - hell i'm traveling the entire world so i can tell many stories of tales far and near...

hard ice cream please - then i can make "medicine" with it...ha!

now get better punky....

Punky! Glad you're feeling better.

Books? I'm always read at least one collection of short stories and a mystery, if not more. Currently I'm reading an old pb mystery called The Name is Jordan by Harold Q> Masur, about a lawyer named Scott Jordan who is more like a hardboiled private eye.

Also reading Transgressions, several books of longer stories featuring writers like Ed McBain (who edited the books), Stephen King, Lawrence Block, Donald Westlake and Walter E. Mosley.

Novels? I started In and Out by Mat Coward and just got a new one by Joe R. Lansdale.

Since we're in Florida this month I don't have access to the library.

The above should indicate the retirement answer: take things easy and travel!

Ice cream? Can't go wrong with either, though not all soft serve can reach the standards of the hard stuff.
