let my love open the door ... to your heart

You must move to another country for two years. Which country do you choose?

You have to tour with a band for six months. Which band do you choose?

You have to listen to the same CD for one year. Which CD do you choose?

I'd move back to Wales. Be nice to see my extended family more often.

BareNaked Ladies. They always seem to be regular guys and have a great time on stage.

As long as I can turn it off (because listening to anything for a year straight would drive me insane) then either Squeeze - The Singles, or The Best of British Ska. Have to be something both upbeat and slow at times.

Switzerland. I've been there before, but I feel like there's so much more that I missed. Also, can we visit other countries during the two years? Because traveling around Europe is very easy and cheap.

Badly Drawn Boy. He seems like a really cool guy and I love his music to boot.

Either Illinoise by Sufjan Stephens (it's fairly new to me as well as fantastic) or Third Eye Blind's self-titled album, although that has more personal attachment, so maybe I wouldn't want to ruin that one by listening to it over and over.

1) It's a tough call for me between Germany and Italy.

2) Id tour with George Thorogood. He kicks ass.

3) George Thorogood Anthology or Atreyu, Deathgrip on yesterday.

1) England. France. England. France. England. France.
[Gives up. Roots around, finds quarter at the bottom of her backpack. Flips quarter.]
Heads, it's England.
Huh. It's landed on the edge.
Mexico it is.

2) Peter Gabriel.

3) Mostly I just go with whatever's playing in my head, so I don't really need a cd. But if I have to take a cd, the Trainspotting soundtrack. It's got a little bit of everything.

1. Tough call but I'd have to go with Australia or New Zealand.

2. Easy call. The Coral Reefer Band (backing Mr. Buffett).

3. Hard to choose. Maybe "Meet Me in Margaritaville" by Jimmy Buffett.

1. This would have been tougher had you said it needed to be a third world country or a war zone or even a non-English speaking country. So off hand I'm going to choose Germany, particularly Bavaria. I like the lifestyle there and I'd at least learn another language.

2. Jimmy Buffet and the Coral Reefers. Hands down.

3. Cyndi Lauper. Body Accoustic.

3) Well, I've already been listening to MUSE "Black Holes and Revelations" CD for the past two months...that just leaves 10 to go...no sweat !

ireland or italy - ireland cause i could definately find out more about my heritage there - and italy just because i've heard the stories from dan about how amazing it is over there.

i don't have a clue - probably either kenny chesney (he is a great performer) or if garth brooks was still around definately would want to tour with him...

for one year - yikes...that might be a bit much - i get bored easily. but if i had to choose - probably something country (go figure, me being the bumpkin and all!) - kenny chesney, garth brooks, faith hill, etc.

1. Germany, to be with Boo :)
2. Wow. I have no idea. Let's say Stone Temple Pilots, back in the day. I'd like to observe Scott Weiland -- in a purely scientific manner of course.
3. I think I've already listened to the best of Crowded House for a year straight, so I'm gonna go with Higgy and say Squeeze - Argybargy.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOO!!!

*smooch*

1. France. I was only in France--Paris, at that--for 5 days, but I loved it. I could easily live there, except for that whole short-days-long-nights-in-winter thing. In the summer, it would be fantastic.

2. Definitely NOT Soil or Godsmack. Not only has my hearing been totalled due to not wearing earplugs when my baby sister dragged me to their concert, I lost 5 pints of blood the following week. I'm certain that it came from the physical pounding of their music.

At least, that's what I tell her (and secretly believe).

3. I wouldn't need a cd. Give me XM radio and I'd be set. Actually, I rarely listen to cds anymore. When I'm alone, I really just want to listen to the silence. But all I get is the ringing in my ears.

LTTG, but 1) Western Canada, where I'd finally catch a salmon or die trying; 2) The fountains of Wayne seem like they'd be fun; 3) Dire Straits, Making Movies.
Good Morning, Punky!
