My heroes have always been cowboys
In your opinion, who is the most fascinating person ever to have lived? Why?
Who, in your life now, do you consider your hero, or if you don't have one, the person most deserving of your respect?
Are you anyone's hero?
Have you started your holiday shopping? If so, are you done? If not, when will you start?

1. Thomas Jefferson. Statesmen, revolutionary, architect, farmer, philsopher, inventor and 18th century Martha Stewart. Now if I was having a dinner party for fascinating people, I'd include Jefferson, Elizabeth I, Katherine Hepburn, Leonardo Da Vinci, Pliny the Younger, Nefrititi, Gertrude Stein and Andy Warhol.
2. Not sure I have a hero. Does that make me a freak?
3. Why I'm yours of course.
4. Nope. Don't do holiday shopping anymore. Well, except for my nieces, who are young, easy to buy for and never return anything to the store. Among the rest of my family -- mom, grand parents, sisters, etc. -- we all put $300.00 in a savings account and use the combined money to pay for a beach house rental every other summer.
You have no idea how much less stressful and more enjoyable the holidays are when you aren't running around trying to find the perfect gift for every memeber of your family.
Boo's first point reminded me of this:
President John F. Kennedy welcomed forty-nine Nobel Prize winners to the White House in 1962, saying, "I think this is the most extraordinary collection of talent and of human knowledge that has ever been gathered together at the White House -- with the possible exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone."
Whoops, sorry, that was me.
The only shopping we do is for nieces and nephews and we're about 3/4 done.
okie syndrome maybe.
William Penn Adair "Will" Rogers -
He was, in short, a true American. He was among many things a comedian, humorist, social commentator, vaudeville performer, actor, aviator, father of four, and just an all around good 'ol boy. Salt of the earth. They just don't make'em like that anymore.
I mean who NEVER met a man they didn't like ?!?!?
In my life everyday, that would be my father.
My boys, without a doubt.
Yes, but not done, still looking for those special pair of wool underwear for all my loved ones.
(also, Punky, I'm outta the basement and staked claim to your room. If you'll read section 6; article P of the Moat handout, you will notice that it clearly states, something or other about the fact that after you have been absent for X number of days with no freaky goat activity present, you have to share it with me. I have to admit, I'm still unclear on the goat situation.)
Most fascinating? Tough one. I'd probably go with Leonardo da Vinci or Thomas Edison - an inventor. I would think their thought processes would be neat to interact with.
Don't have a hero. I feel anyone older than me deserves my respect- up until they do something to lose it!
I hope I'm my son's hero, but other than that, nope.
Started shopping - am done for several people - but not my son or wife.
1) The first person to come to my mind is Stephen Hawkins. I dont think anyone will ever be able to appreciate the depth of his intellect.
2) my grandpa has always been my hero. hes smart, kind, caring, patient, and steadfast.
3) i have no idea..
4) i have started holiday shopping, and usually get it all done within a week or so, as quickly and as efficiently as possible. it leaves more time for deceptive wrapping jobs.
fascinating person...my mimi - my mom's mom...why? she had to deal w/ my mom!!!!! hahah!!!
wierd to think about this - but actually my dad. he has come through a lot in his life - good, bad, worse, and ever WORSER! and has always shown me what it means to stay strong and keep on trusting that everything will work out in the end....he really is a great guy and a wonderful dad!

There are too, too many. Robspierre, Marie Antionette, Napoleon, Queen Victoria, Abraham Lincoln, Mata Hari, to name just a few. They've all had secrets.
I'm not into heroes. I look up to so many, many people, all for different reasons.
I can't imagine I am. That person couldn't possibly know me very well.
Yes. But I don't do a lot of shopping. I mostly do holiday making. I've purchased a majority of the supplies I need for various projects.
